Our club was accepted on October 16th, 2024, into the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL). This allows the McLean Lacrosse Club (MLC) to officially participate in the upcoming NVYLL season. MLC will compete with surrounding teams in a positive environment that will allow the kids to hone in on their skills and sportsmanship.
Our goal is clear: We want to restore the McLean Lacrosse Program to its former status as a respected, community-driven organization. Our vision is to create a lacrosse program where every child has the opportunity to have fun with the sport and walk away with a positive experience. With the help from the community we will be able to establish our commitments.
Commitment to Development
- Clinics: McLean Lacrosse Club will host clinics during the year to help hone in on the kids fundamental skill-sets and we are planning to kick off a McLittles program to help build our little boys and girls into the program.
- Structured Practices: Our practices focus on fundamental knowledge of lacrosse including defense, clearing, passing, shooting, communicating, fast breaks, and field awareness
Commitment to NVYLL
- Rules and Standards: We will fully adhere to our by-laws and NVYLL rules and uphold their standards.
- Mission: Our mission is to provide a positive, inclusive experience for all players.
- Principles: We stand by the core principles of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community engagement.
Lastly, as we move forward, our top priority will always be the boys and girls in our community. We want them to enjoy the game, learn the values of sportsmanship, and build lasting friendships. With your support, we believe we can transition to a model that reflects the values of both our community and the NVYLL.
