Spring 2027 Registration
McLean Lacrosse Club (MLC) offers a fun, competitive lacrosse program for boys and girls in kindergarten through 8th grade.
A note from the Commissioner: McLean Lacrosse Club holds an evaluation session to ensure your player is placed on the right level team, and coaches assign teams after evaluations. Our league includes many talented players, and our priority is to create balanced, competitive teams that give every player a positive and rewarding experience. We do our best to group players with their friends whenever possible, but there may be times when this is not feasible if we are to keep play fair and competitive.
Spring 2027 at a Glance
- Registration: Is open from November 1, 2026 to February 7, 2027. After registration closes, you may still express interest by emailing mlccommissioner@gmail.com.
- Spots are limited: Once an age group is full, additional players go on a waitlist. They will be invited to join if a spot opens up or if there are enough players on the waitlist to field another team.
- February and March: Player evaluations and practices. We aim to hold two practices per week, based on coach availability.
- Regular season: April 3 to May 16, 2027, with eight (8) games over seven (7) weeks: typically four home and four away, with one weekend doubleheader.
- Playoffs: May 22 to 23, 2027.
- Cost: $425 per player. This covers league expenses under NVYLL and includes a team jersey, which is returned at the end of the season. An early-bird discount applies to registrations from November 1 to November 22.
- Divisions: Boys play by age (8U, 10U, 12U, 14U) and girls play by school grade (K-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8). See which age group to register for.
- Volunteer: Parents are encouraged to volunteer as assistant coaches or team parents, and no lacrosse experience is needed. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please email mlccommissioner@gmail.com.
Why Register Early?
- Get the early-bird discount.
- Secure a spot on a team before your age group fills, avoiding the waitlist.
- Help the club plan the right number of teams for each age group.
- Help the club reserve enough field space for practices and games.
Eligibility
- Club boundaries: MLC can only register players who live within the club area, which covers these high school pyramids (it doesn’t matter where your player goes to school; your home address decides your team):
- McLean
- Langley
- Marshall
- Yorktown
- Meridian
- Changing programs: A player who played for another NVYLL member program last spring can only register with MLC if the family has since moved its primary residence or has a waiver from NVYLL. A player who has established a club within their public high school pyramid also needs a waiver to move to another club in that pyramid. You will be asked to certify this when you register.
- Age groups: All players must play in their correct age group under the NVYLL Age Segmentation Policy (see Divisions above). Knowingly violating this policy may result in dismissal from MLC, forfeited games, ineligibility for postseason play, and a one-year suspension from McLean Lacrosse Club.
Refund Policy
- Refund requests must be sent to mlccommissioner@gmail.com.
- No refunds will be granted after the first week of practice.
- Refunds may be considered for:
- Injury prior to the start of the season
- Moving out of the area
- Boundary ineligibility
- Service fees are non-refundable.
- If MLC cannot field a team for which your player is eligible, your registration fee will be refunded.
Player and Family Commitment
MLC is committed to providing a rewarding and competitive season for every player. We encourage well-rounded athletes and support playing multiple sports, but we ask that families make MLC their primary activity during the spring. This makes sure teams have enough players at practices and games, so coaches can teach effectively and players can grow together as a team. By prioritizing MLC during the season, families strengthen both their child’s development and the success and spirit of our club.
Sportsmanship
At McLean Lacrosse Club, sportsmanship is at the core of everything we do. We expect our players to compete with integrity, respect their teammates and opponents, and play the game with enthusiasm and fairness. Competition can be intense, and keeping composure, especially in challenging moments, is part of being a true athlete. Good sportsmanship creates a positive experience for everyone on the field and sets the right example for our community.
We ask parents and spectators to uphold the same standard. Games can be emotional and not every call will go the way you hope, but parents must remain respectful toward referees, coaches, and players at all times. If a concern arises, please do not address officials directly. Instead, bring it to the attention of the Commissioner on the field, a coach, or a designated representative of the home field so it can be handled appropriately. Together, we can keep MLC games competitive, enjoyable, and rooted in respect.
